Gabriela Lira Alvarez, MSW, has been working in the social services and mental health field since 2015. Prior to becoming a licensed social worker, Ms. Lira Alvarez worked as a Children's Services Specialist, assisting families with who have
children with developmental disabilities access accommodations and resources in the communities where they reside. Ms. Lira Alvarez took that skill set and began working with families in the Linkages to Learning program with EveryMind, connecting them to services that addressed social, economic, health, and emotional issues and assisted families becoming self-sufficient. As a fellow Linkages to Learning participant in her youth, Ms. Lira Alvarez believed herself to be giving back to the community that helped her. Ms. Lira Alvarez returned to school to pursue a Master in
Social Work, becoming a licensed social worker. She has worked as a school mental health therapist, providing individual and group therapy to children escaping violence, grief, or experienced sexual abuse and/or assault. Ms. Lira Alvarez currently works at the Tree House Childrens Advocacy Center as a Bilingual Child Trauma Therapist and has been with the agency since 2022. In her role, she provides evidence-based trauma focused services to children who have experienced abuse and/or neglect. Since September 2023, Ms. Lira Alvarez has been providing PSB-CBT to
Spanish speaking children and caregivers.
