Jordan Simmons, PhD

Jordan Simmons, PhD, obtained her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology and has several years of experience in research and supervised clinical practice related to child abuse, neglect, and problematic sexual behaviors in school-aged children and adolescents. Her research interests reside in evidence-based treatments for problematic sexual behaviors, child abuse/maltreatment, rural mental health, and Motivational Interviewing.

Dr. Simmons is currently completing an advanced research fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center/ Center on Child Abuse & Neglect under the mentorship of Dr. Jane Silovsky. Her primary line of funded research is focused on exploring the effectiveness of telehealth services to decrease health disparities for rural-based youth and families across the United States. Additionally, she is involved in research related to dissemination of EBTs for problematic sexual behavior, trauma, and clinical decision making for PSBs. Through this role she also provides mentorship to the Youth with Problematic Sexual Behavior Lab (YPSB). Dr. Simmons, provides outpatient clinical services for children using evidence-based group and family-based treatments, such as PSB-CBT and TF-CBT.
