Stacie Schrieffer LeBlanc, JD, MEd

Stacie Schrieffer LeBlanc, JD, Med is a life-long child advocate. She is the immediate past president of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC), the co-founder of The UP Institute, the Executive Director of Up For Champions, and a CAST instructor at Tulane University. She received her undergraduate degree from Lousiana State University, her master's from the University of New Orleans and her law degree from Loyola Law School. Stacie has been working in the child maltreatment field for more than 33 years and spent first 10 years leading a child abuse felony prosecution program that reached a 94% conviction rate. She also worked for Children's Hospital New Orleans for 19 years, providing legal advocacy and community education, and led the Audrey Hepburn Children at Risk Evaluation (CARE) Center and the New Orleans Children's Advocacy Center. Stacie has been instrumental in passing many legislative amendments for the protection of children, designs and evaluates prevention programs, and provides training at the local, national, and international levels. She has published numerous articles, written five books and has been recognized for 11 successful legislative amendments by being named the Champion for Children for Policy and Legislation by Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana. She has received a Victims and Citizens Against Crime Lifetime Achievement Award, the FBI Directors and Community Leadership Award, Outstanding Prosecutor Award, recognition as Catholic Graduate of the Year, City Business' Health Care Hero Award, APSAC outstanding service. In 2022 Stacie received the advocate of the year award from the American Psychology Association Section on Children for her dedication and success advancing No Hit Zones as an effective tool to reduce a key risk factor of child abuse. She has created and evaluated multiple prevention programs including Teens, Sex, and The Law, Dear Parents, and Painless Parenting. Stacie also serves the Executive Committee of the National Initiative to End Corporal Punishment and chairs the National No Hit Zone Committee, which is currently tracking the rapid growth of organizational No Hit Zones nationally and internationally.
