Bio

Dr. Mandi Fowler is a Program Director at the University of Alabama, Youth Services Institute (YSI), specializing in forensic social work, evidence-based interventions for vulnerable youth and program evaluation. Under her leadership, YSI has received multiple federally funded grants. She is Co-PI on the Alabama Department of Youth Services’ program evaluation and validation project. In addition, Dr. Fowler directs a community-based treatment program for youth who exhibit problematic sexual behavior across the State of Alabama. Dr. Fowler is a trainer in an evidence-based intervention, Problematic Sexual Behavior-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (PSB-CBT); a certified provider of Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT); trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR); trained as a clinician, supervisor, and within agency trainer in Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) and leads YSI’s certification program for clinicians serving youth with illegal sexual behavior.
