February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM), a national effort to empower young people with the tools and support they need to build safe, healthy relationships.
Teen dating violence affects 1 in 3 teens, yet many young people don’t have the language to name what’s happening to them. Abuse often begins subtly with small comments that chip away at confidence, controlling behavior disguised as care, or digital pressure that becomes routine. These patterns can deeply shape how youth understand love, boundaries, and their own value.
This is why prevention is essential.
When young people learn early how to recognize red flags, communicate their needs, and understand what healthy love truly looks like, we interrupt cycles of harm before they escalate. Prevention empowers them with confidence, clarity, and tools to protect themselves and each other.
TDVAM is our chance to equip youth with knowledge and support at a critical time in their lives.
Our upcoming TDVAM event is designed to provide exactly that.
