Poster Session

Presentations are encouraged on all aspects of sexual behavior of youth, including cultural diversity.  Symposium participants are not required to register for poster sessions.  The poster boards will be available for viewing during the Welcome Reception.  The authors of the poster presentations will be at their boards to discuss their work with symposium participants.

Round Table Discussions
How do you keep up with the results of the latest research on sexual behavior of youth? How should the results impact practice?  What are ways to improve the partnership among researchers, practitioners, policy makers, and parents?  These round table discussions are designed to:
  • share reports summarizing research and impacting practice,
  • share resources to evaluate the level of evidence for specific interventions,
  • share tools to access the latest research, and
  • promote discussion on strategies to improve collaboration.

Caregiver Panel Luncheon
The key to helping children impacted by trauma and children with problematic sexual behavior (PSB) is to engage and collaborate with their caregivers.  This panel will feature the experiences of caregivers who have navigated community based systems to receive treatment for their children with PSB.  The session will focus on common barriers to caregiver engagement and provide strategies to address these barriers.

Closing Plenary
The key to helping youth impacted by problematic sexual behavior is to engage and collaborate.  Youth voice gives an invaluable perspective to facilitating treatment engagement.  This panel will provide youth views on common barriers to treatment engagement.  Youth will be presenting on best practices for engagement.
